The holiday season is upon us, but as always, having to deal with cooking and preparing is now a reality. From shopping at the grocery store to dealing with dessert catering, Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday seasons are a time to savor and enjoy every single moment. With a little help from the owners and operators of Open Range, the amazing award-winning restaurant of the Sheridan Inn, we have some fun holiday ideas for your Christmas, Thanksgiving, or any other holiday celebration.
The Atmosphere at the Sheridan
The atmosphere is so incredible and warm. If you were here for the holidays, you would feel immediately at home at an exotic location. I suggest a trying a Merlot wine at dinner, because it adds a balanced acidity and generous fruit intensity. With this varietal, you can enjoy the entire holiday experience, with or without kids.
Here are a few guest reviews:
“Checked in after dark, so much of the history was hidden until the next morning. Then, wow… a virtual assault unto much of the Western history and culture you have read about since you were a kid. The walls were full of old photos of historic figures and taxidermy of local big game. The bar attached to the restaurant was brought to this hotel by Buffalo Bill Cody after he purchased it in London, England. This hotel was originally built by the railroad and was the first building in Sheridan to have electric service. I could go on forever, but one really just needs to experience a stay here to go back over 100 years in time”

“An amazing hotel story and a beautiful place to stay! Resurrected over many years of dilapidation to a beautiful 1900s era period hotel. The rooms are exceptionally appointed, individually unique, and comfortable. The ambiance continues to the restaurant and classic western bar area. The Inn is adjacent to a railroad (that’s where hotels were built in the day) but can be mitigated by choosing a room location on the opposite side and the thermostats have the continuous fan run feature. The staff was pleasant and offered great insight to the inn’s former guests and history. Highly recommended!”

Holiday Feasts at the Open Range
To be fair, the Open Range restaurant offers an international and world-class intimate dining experience. There are zero pretensions here, because there are only the finest steaks, tremendous fish and seafood, and a broad, award-winning vino selection in a relaxed atmosphere.
Enjoy our traditional American food that is most definitely served routinely on a daily and consistent basis. Our food creations are wisely prepared to be as flavorful and healthy as possible. The menu allows you to choose from small bites, examples and full-size entrees for all shapes and sizes.
Final Thoughts
As so many billions of Christmas cards have said before and will say again, the most important cards contain a self-proclaimed verse. Many of these are culled from religious or sentimental texts, notably from Victorian authors such as Charles Dickens.
“A Christmas candle is a lovely thing;
It makes no noise at all,
But softly gives itself away;
While quite unselfish, it grows small”
Even if you are not a Christmas celebrator, you have to agree with how magical this sentiment can be. To celebrate it in such a spectacular location as the Sheridan Inn, that is also a truly blessed event to experience. Contact us today.
